If you recently joined in, make sure to visit my blog…
There are two categories:
Sunday sermon notes – For you to follow and stay with us during the holidays
Bible study – Theme: the kind of person Jesus can disciple…
You can visit the blog or just follow along on fb as they are posted. I post them every week and there should be enough to keep you studying along with us as the week progresses.
Tomorrow evening we will be sharing about they Holy Spirit! If you’ve read through the first week’s sermon notes you’ll remember me making this statement:
“The biggest thing that keeps us from engaging other cultures in friendship relationships, is fear of the unknown”
Now tomorrow I’ll be sharing how this, ‘fear of the unknown’ also keeps us from engaging the Holy Spirit – fear of the unknown third of the Trinity!
Make sure not to miss that.
Back to the blog…this week we will also be starting our scripture memorising! We will be studying them and memorising them in the form of a confession, so it’s easy to proclaim it over your life!!
I’ll share them on twitter and facebook, but let me give you a sneak preview of how you should work them into your life…
If I give you this:
Jesus took my punishment, so I could have his peace. (Is53:5)…
you should know that the actual verse says it like this:
Isaiah 53:5: But it was for our sins he was wounded, and for our evil doings he was crushed: he took the punishment by which we have peace, and by his wounds we are made well.
So then you just take that one part of it and personalise it and then start affirming it in your mind by saying it outloud to yourself until you feel it! (meaning until it really drops from your mouth to your heart and you really believe it and it becomes your mindset)
Great so there you have it…
Look out for the blog announcement monday, you’ll find sundays’ sermon notes and the continuation of our study!
to be continued…
